It’s May, Spring! The time of year when a young man’s thoughts naturally turn to…sheep! ,,,and yarn…and knitting. Yes, once again we head out to the Howard County Fairgrounds for the 39th Annual Maryland Sheep & Wool Festival. On the face of it, this may seem like a bit off the beaten path, but it is one of those great bits of Americana, especially here on the outskirts of the Beltway, less than an hour from the Nation’s Capital that quickly bring one face to face with our agricultural roots. Not only that, but it is a riot of tactile sensation, color, smell and sound. If you’ve never been, be sure to put in on your calendar for next year’s 40th Anniversary. It’s an experience you won’t soon forget.
